Sirak Woodworking + Design is owned and operated out of Northfield, VT by Todd Sirak. Diverse offerings include built-ins (vanities, desks, bookshelves), cabintry, furniture, and even skis. Todd strives to build custom pieces of furniture with a modern twist. He uses traditional methods of joinery to create individual designs that are beautiful and timeless while incorporating his own aesthetic. His inspiration comes from the material itself. Each species of wood is hand-selected by Todd for superiority, strength, character, and beauty. Much of his design is predicated on what wood material is available at the time. He incorporates book-matching techniques into his furniture to create a unique aesthetic. Book-matching creates continuous lines that are both pleasing to the eye yet complex in their simplicity. Todd is a lifelong Vermonter born in Bennington. He first fell in love with woodworking while taking a shop class at Burr and Burton Seminary in Manchester, VT and was instantly hooked. His background in woodworking further progressed while taking courses at the Shelburne Crafts School, Green Mountain College where he attending the REED program, and Yestermorrow Design/Build School. Todd has been a professional woodworker for the past 12 years. His past work experiences at Magpie Furniture in Wilson, WY and Pomerantz Woodworking in Waitsfield VT have helped foster his current business. A special thank you to Charlie Thomas and Peter Pomerantz- without your help and guidance as mentors none of this would be possible. Todd currently lives, works, and plays in the Mad River Valley of Vermont with his wife Molly, son Jax and cat named Vince.
